Technology
The Art Faculty at Wyndham has; since its inception, become increasingly reliant on technology in Visual Art, Photography and Design for the production of student works, both Preliminary and HSC.
I came to the college in 2007 and walked into an art room equipped with 8-9 eMacs running various versions of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. On those old machines students produced some of the most exceptional works. It’s strange to look back to those times from where we stand now running state of the art applications for students working with digital, photographic and video media on well provisioned iMacs and laptops. To be honest the majority of what we do would not be possible without the access we have to Adobe tools and Mac hardware.
The same applies for Design and Photography students. The Creative Suite was for a long time the hub of all the activity in the Design course, which has essentially been rebuilt around access to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Flash Professional, with Photoshop being the mainstay for editing digital photographic images.
